Colloids Research Group

Home page of a research group of scientists studying colid systems

Research areas

Our research covers the following topics

Emulsions

Studies of physicochemical and antimicrobial properties of emulsions. Spectroscopic studies of emulsions. Microscopic Droplet Size Analysis (MDSA).

Surfactants and dispersants

Natural emulsifiers and dispersants, such as saponins, bacterial biosurfactants, proteins and peptides, phospholipids.

Microparticles and nanoparticles

Particulate matter of natural and synthetic compounds with micrometer and nanometer sizes. Microscopic studies, physical properties in suspensions. Multiphase systems.

Aerosols

Aerosols containing bioactive compounds. Optimization of solution compositions for dispersion in gases.

Hydrogels and oleogels

Structural, mechanical and functional studies of hydrogels and oleogels containing bioactive compounds.

Microorganisms suspensions

Analysis of the properties of microorganisms in suspensions from the perspective of their colloidal properties.
